UK Meet 2009 - CANCELLED

Given the lack of any UK Meet this year...
Yet again!!! Lee, Chelle, Mrs Owl and myself are looking into doing
something for next year. These events take a fair bit of planning so
input from you guys / girls is needed.

When?
Where?
What to do?

Yes I know petrol is expensive...that's life....unfortunate as it is.

Firstly I want to know who is up for this, I can pretty much put 10 people down straight away, but I need to gauge interest as to if it's worth the effort.
Post here your prefered time of year ( remember the main club meet is always around the end of May) along with ideal location.
Possibles include:- North York Moors, Devon/Cornwall, Northumberland, Lakes, Peak District, Wales, Scotland

As a suggestion Stanford Hall is quite central in Leicestershire and is a lovely venue, but from what I've seen there's an awful lot of 480's in Scotland so perhaps somewhere further north may be better?

Shame nothing is happening this year was well looking forward to it as i think i have some money this year (and definately a tent!!!)

As for next year...Been to stanford hall and its gorgeous. And central, but i am biast as it is near me!!

Wales I could get to OK I think-made it last time

Devon is beautiful,, plus I could coincide it with seeing the parents!! But summer is probably the best time to go...tho not to involve travelling on a Saturday-holiday change over day-utter nightmare!!

think Cornwall is too much of an extreme for the majority of people.

Unless...you are thinking of doing a "480 Tour" and every year make it a different location instead of trying to go the same places every year-again just a suggestion

But i can pretty much put my name down right away, and maybe bring Joe to so thats another 1 480 and 2 people

Put me down the 480 has hardly done any miles this year with me not making the euro meet and no uk meet. North york moors would be good nice countryside or the penines. Around june time would be good before people go on summer hols etc.

Would be interested obviously depending on work commitments etc. Don't choose Scotland as I wont be there anymore.

How about July/August time, if you fancy a trip into North Wales I can help you out there, otherwise, Cornwall would be a nice location.

And whats this about expensive fuel? It only cost 55p a litre

May i suggest Cornwalls quite a trek for most.

It was that last week here, went up by 3p in a week, then again I'm glad I'm not running on diesel, a local station here is selling for Ã‚Â£1.38 a litre

I'm up for it! Sounds great, how about the beautiful location of Rutland Water? Pretty center of the country, not just saying that because it's 2miles from me, it would be a great place to have a 480 meet!

Cornwall does sound good though!
