Meeting in North Nottinghamshire
I have been volunteered to organise the classic car display for our local carnival - we regularly get around 40-50 cars and motorcycles, mostly dating from the 1950s-1970s, but anyone with an interesting car is welcome. So, if anyone with a 480 wants to come along, we could make it a small group meeting - it would be good to meet a few of you.
The date is Sunday, 8th July, from 12 noon to 4-5pm, and the venue is Warsop, which is approx half way between Mansfield and Worksop, on the A60. We are on the edge of Sherwood Forest, so there are some nice routes to the venue, especially if you are coming from the east.
The carnival itself has a fairground and arena events, and is a good day out for the youngsters. There is no entry fee, and you can turn up on the day if that's how you want to play it, but it would be more helpful if I have details of owners and cars beforehand - you can pm me through this forum if you are planning to come
ttfn,
Mike.

Car condition is a minor matter - the plan is just to get a group of us together. I'll pm all those who have expressed an interest, but if anyone else wants to just turn up on the day, taht's fine.
The showground is on the A60 on the northern outskirts of Warsop. Drive into the ground, and follow the servise road as far round as you can go.... we'll be there!

just got back from visiting the inlaws in newcastle so first time back on the site.
big thanks to mike for organising the car show there were some cool cars. it was great to see other 480's and to talk to other owner's im only sorry it was so brief but i had the little one to keep entertained and after we'd taken her for a tour of the carnival and we returned (and started talking to simon and g/f) it lashed it down and we got soaked so after getting back to the car we decided to get on our way.
@mike, i hope you werent disappointed i didnt want to line the gt up with the other cars but i dont consider it a classic, an it has bumps, scratches, dents, rust bubbles, fading clusters (you know the usual), i hadnt even had time to clean it. the point of me attending was to actually SEE another 480 and talk to other owners which i did but all too briefly. dont get me wrong i really like my car but id have felt slightly embarrased lining it up with some genuine old classics.
@simon, sorry i didnt have more time to talk but we were gettin soaked and as i explained we had to set off up to newcastle that afternoon.
but seeing your car made my journey there definately worthwhile what a MINT turbo you own. its immaculate and if i owned it i wouldnt have been ashamed to line it up with the other cars. although ive seen hardly any 480's your car has set a high benchmark and gives me something to aim at. also good on you making the effort to attend all the way from essex. and if i could have hung around to vote for the best car itd be your immaculate black turbo its trully showroom and 50 odd thou on the clock there cant be many better.
other forum members reading this post the total 480 attendence was a massive 3. me, mike and simon unless anybody turned up late (doubt it), shame on the people who posted they were coming

Hi,
I arrived just after you left.I agree that was a nice Turbo!
They didn`t let me on to the field so I had to park in the
car park.Never mind but thanks to Mike anyway .
Here are a couple of photos
Also on the way out I spotted this

Thanks Guys!
Hi there guys!
Thank you so much for all those nice comments. Really appreciated! I am very proud of her.
However, its a shame you didn't see Kev's 480 S - its even more immaculate! He had done some great polishing! I had a red 480 S before this Turbo and couldn't get the paint work to look as good as his. Nice one Kev!
I look forward to seeing your GT, Barnsley when your ready to show us!
Thank you also to Mike for organising the day. Even though not many 480's turned up, my g/f and myself had a great day at the carnival and then went to a very nice pub for a drink which Mike recommended and then on to sherwood forest for a bit which was bliss and the weather in the evening couldn't have been better!
Cheers guys!
Simon.
