Well i've checked the train times and it theres engineering work going on between Aberdeen and Dundee that weekend meaning major hassle with changing from bus to train and taking AGES! I might just drive down instead but will decide nearer the time. Megabus is NOT an option

amen to that, god i hate busses. you might be able to get shittylink, which might be a smidge better but prob busy if the trains are off. the megabus always feels like it goes everywhere at 35mph too:rubbish!

My lasting memory of megabus is seeing one just south of stirling at the side of the road with all the passengers waiting on the embankment for a replacement to come along! This is probably Pauls idea of megabus too. ;)

My lasting memory of megabus is being crammed in, practically folded into the smallest seat known to man, with no air conditioning in the height of summer in a bus crammed with passengers for 12 awfull hours all the way to london, the worst part being that they didnt even let anyone off to go to the toilet/buy water when they changed drivers at a service station. scumbags.

still it's cheap tho

lol ... did you read about the megabus driver who flipped in between Glasgow and Perth ... not drunk, just tierd apparently ... weaving all over the road etc .... the passengers all got off and refused to get back on until they got a sane driver!
Passenger Russell Spinks said the man opened a window so the cold air would keep him alert.

He said: "We were swerving from side to side at high speeds and the driver was sticking his head out of the window.

"That's how we noticed it because it was freezing cold and he kept splashing his face with water. "

It may be cheaper, but i don't think safety is something to cut costs on!

Ok just a bit of a check to make sure of who's still up for this weekend.

I've had a quick scan online and in the absence of further suggestions how about aiming to meet at the wallace monument at a time that suits all 1pm? its just outside stirling so nice and central, i also imagine it has a nice big car park should we need it! directions here

Once everyone has assembled there make a short convoy to this pub, www.westertonarms.co.uk map here
its just off the A9 so also nice and easy to get to. shiould be able to provide us with some basic pub grub, and you've guessed it a free car park!

As for the Glasgow guys shall we meet up somewhere central in the morning and make the trip en mass? I remeber glasgowjim mentioned he's outside of glasgow, perhaps if you wanted to suggest somewhere on the way where ross/rohan/paul/myself could meet you and add you to the convoy, to save you coming into the city if we're just going to drive back out again. Roo if you're still thinking of bus/training it down it should be nice and easy for us to meet you at your station of choice, if not hopefully just see you at the monument?

This is all just a proposal so any suggestions are welcomed, or if it would help to be a little flexible on the times just say!

Quite looking forward to seeing those 480's! (and owners too of course)

Owen I am in Bearsden so it is not far from centre of town just a short hop down maryhill road so I will meet you anywhere central - not worth putting everyone else out :D

just post up which you're most familiar with or make a suggestion...

Yeah, i'd say the car park at Tesco St Rollox (springburn) is a good vote ... can pick up some supplies too! ;)
