Proposed Glasgow based mini-meet

So i've been talking to Ross (piper1st) a bit about getting togther for some 480 related banter, and thought that it might be worth making it semi-official. Proposed at the moment is Sunday 25th Feb, get a late morning/early afternoon start to make the most of the short daylight hours.

I thought perhaps meet up (somewhere with plenty parking space

) first for a look at the cars and a bit of a chat, then maybe a short convoy somewhere nice/out of the way for a pub lunch, and possibly to meet up with any farther flung (non glasgow based) members who fancied a sunday drive with a difference.

Let me know what you think, and i'll add atendee's to the list!

i think murf may have vanished into the abyss, or at least into a somewhat rapid mr2...

so shall we go for heading north/east away from glasgow to somewhere central-ish? that way glasgow travels a bit, edinburgh travels a bit and well sorry roo but you're going to have to travel the most wherever we have it

but it would reduce your journey a little. Stirling, Perth, Dundee (might be pushing it?) what do you guys think?

The list is growing hooray!

Planned layout at the mo runs something like:

glasgow memebers assemble somewhere near city centre with lots of parking, have a bit of a chat and look at the cars,

then convoy (via any places of interest i.e further flung glasgow-ish members) to somewhere in the stirling area.

Arrive and meet any edinburgh/aberdeen/other members who are comming,

off for a nice pub lunch, or similar.

Possibly take a few photos of all the cars together and go our seperate ways when ready.

Anyone got any good suggestions of places to meet up around the stirling area? i only really know it from occasionally passing through.

I'm totally open to any suggestions or alterations that others may wish to make, trying to make it as easy as possible for as many as possible to attend.

I'm still up for this but i'm considering coming down on the train to cut the fuel costs. Would anyone be willing to pick me up at the station in Glasgow then drop me off again after the meet? I'll buy the lunch to whoever does!

Hardly been on the forum recently, but met Vanders yesterday (good to see ya!) who told me about this mini meet, I'll have a chat with the man and see if we're free. We'll keep ya posted.

@ Vanders - will we be expected to wash our cars for the meet?

Roo i'm sure that someone would be happy to meet you at the train station, possibly even if Ross Rohan and myself met at the station you could pick the cleanest 480 to travel in

what do you say guys, i know that we're all fairly central in location...

That would be great thanks. Although I can't judge who has the best 480, none of them are white.

I'll get the morning train down and get into Glasgow round about or just before midday. Will double check the times and post them here once I know.
