No way! Do i look like someone who'd turn up to something organised by a white 480 owner?

Cambridge General Mini Meet

Post by Dan the 480 Man » Wed Jun 07, 2006 6:14 pm

Ok.

Feel like i need to pluck up some courage to do this-i suppose it's through fear of having no response

Groom is constantly trying to organise a mini-meet in East Anglia, but as we are so far away from everybody else it ends up just being me and him! One of the difficult things is trying to find something to do, because there's sod all round here.

However, i was just perusing some old threads, and i thought about Cambridge. Now i know it's still in East Anglia, but it's not as close to the coast as we are-it's a bit closer to the edge. But not knowing Cambridge very well, i couldn't think of anything to do-then i stumbled across Rob Kendall's Thread about the specialist Volvo breakers he stumbled across. Well, even if i don't need any parts i'd still like a wander round there at some point just incase there is something i see-i just thought that maybe that it may appeal to a few others around that area too? I'm sure that there are some other areas around there or a car park/food place we could go to before/after? Maybe someone from round that area could help?

I want to meet a few other members this year after missing out on Euro, and with the possibility of missing the forthcoming Lincoln meet too-just thought i'd put some feelers out.

The time i have in mind is from around the 3rd of July (i'm on my big holiday then with two weeks off and a Girlfriend who's working full time :(). I've already spoken to Steve, so he's up for it too...

Anybody else?? :?

Might be up for this, depends on when etc. I tend to struggle for time due to work and family commitments. Will have to try and arrange to meet up with Groomus and yourself sometine though.

I was in Cambridge all weekend, and passed the breakers. On the tiny section of the a1 i actually drove on.

Also saw a 480 parked up in the cit, but nothing exciting, so remember nothing about it.

Maybe we could try for an evening pub meet, met up with some of the Retro Rides lot at the Angel in Larling last night, (next to Snetterton). It's a good pub, with an overspill car park we can use without getting in the way of the regulars.
