I'm going to head down to Somerton in MrsR's WagonR (Green Metallic) cos the 480 made some funny noises yesterday coming back from looking at the sad Calebartion - see Celebrations page 8.
I will look at Haynes Motor Museum as from Rpruen's earlier post it could be a good place to end up in.

Somerton is OK to meet at.
I suggest the Unicorn Pub, its on the main drag through Somerton, there is a free car park behind it which is part of a larger free car park with pizza place / loos etc as well so plenty of flexibility.
Haynes Motor Museum is OK to travel on to and if there are more than 12 we get a group rate for entrance.
Driving on the track would need a big gathering to make it worthwhile, while prices wernt mentioned it would need a mega meeting for it to be worthwhile.
Today being Fathers day there was a lot going on and a good buzz - they were doing 'Dream Car' Rides in a Lamborgini Countach - first test, can you get in
Didnt have time to do create a 'treasure hunt' but I do have an 'scenic' route worked out to go to Haynes.
MGB_GT its in your hands to stir up the troops!!

Just to confirm to all that this is still going ahead. One way or another I should have a car, about a 50% chance the ES will be back on the road again.
Still a few details at this late stage I know to sort, but I will get this organised by Wed/Thur latest. Glad it's looking like it will finally happen though, looking forward to it.

Just been reconnected to the forum, so sorry for not joining the topic earlier. Would like to join you all next sunday - Haynes museum is excellent for car enthusiasts. However, have I missed the meeting TIME at the pub? if so could someone post it again, Thanks, Mike

Hi, feel free the more the merrier.
Just to confirm, I now have transport (a Megane Convertable) so let's hope the weather stays nice , either way though I'll be there on Sunday.
The Unicorn Pub seems a good place to meet up at say 12:00, gives us all a chance to get some grub/drinks if we wish. (SteveR - Can you confirm what road this is on?)
My Number is 07751 202060 and I will have the phone with me, so if everyone makes a note of it, please let me know if you intend on coming on Sunday and you end up running late so I can ensure we either wait for you or are able to tell you where we are going from there.
As for Haynes Museum, I am happy to go along with this if people like? I know it got discussed when we intended on doing this before. Either way it's not like anything has to be booked in advance, so we can make our minds up on the day as to what to do in the afternoon, I am sure we will have options there. However again if people would like to express an opinion or any altenatives, we can look at all the options.

Would you believe... the OS map I bought bisects Somerton but it looks like it is the B3165 that goes straight through the village.
The B3153 parallels it (East/West) to the North of the town and the B3151 skirts the East of teh town (running North/South ish).
The pub has various rooms and tables outside so by getting there early we should be able to bag a nook or cranny, or table or two.

Shit I might have to bail on the meet my clutch has gone and I cant get it done until next thursday! I am really annoyed as last time I broke down the AA guy said that my clutch was on it was out and only had a couple of hundred miles left in it, and that was 12 months and 10,000 miles ago. so i guess i really drained the last bit of life out of it!
