Time for a scots meet...

15th/16th July - Sal, Ally, Edinburgh_Mark, Laura, Owen, Rohan, Paul, Brasco, Murf, JohnT, 75% of Stu, Rich, + ???

The list gets longer...

Roo?, Piper?, Fraz?, Groomus?, Graham?, Adam & Sarah?, Tiberius?

Looks like this is going to be the best dates to suit the majority of us. From Roo's previous posts he doesn't mention he can't do this weekend so here's hoping he's ok with it.

I suppose we need to start thinking about campsites / B&Bs / accomodation. Really going to be too many people for any one of us to put up. There's plenty of nice campsites through Stirling/Aberfoyle way and loads of B&Bs too. Thoughts anyone?

I vote campsites, theres one i always pass on my way through the trossachs. Its a camping/caravan place right at the side of the road beside the loch and it looks really nice!
Damned if i can remember the name of it though!!

Could be one of many Murf, can you remember where it's near or what road it's on? Callander? Aberfoyle?

Well past callander i think, i might be up that way later in the week i'll have a look!
If not theres a caravan park at callander called The Gart, dunno if they do camping tho.

The Gart always looks a bit scarey ro me!
Will be up that way on 11th of June, so will have a look, seem to remember there was a campsite on the left just as you enter Aberfoyle, between the road and a burn, there is always the Red Squirel at Glencoe, but thats a fair bit further, will report back.
And yes I prefer camping once the tent is repaired (another story!).
Aparently the old Little Chef opposite the Green Welly in Tyndrum is now some sort of super gormet cheap yummy food place, and the chippy in Callander has also been done out and is really good and does a superb white pudding supper!!

Glencoe!?! Yeah, just a little bit further...

The chippy in Callander has always been pretty good.

Is there a campsite just to the southside of Lochearnhead, on the banks of Loch Lubnaig? Maybe it's the one you're thinking of Murf? Only thing about camping next to a loch at that time of year will be the midges...

I think I've got Sally tentatively convinced of camping for this and the Lincoln meet - just need to remember a foot pump for the airbed!

time is flying by like a flying wizzy whooshy thing.

I've come to terms with the fact that at night, there'll be nothing between me and the midges except a sheet of nylon held up by twigs.......so we should really start to look for a suitable campsite and get some pitches booked ?

I would offer but I'm away all next week- any volunteers?

Less than 3 weeks to go... we really need to get a campsite sorted soon, unfortunately I've got loads of uni stuff to do this week, then me and Sal will be down in London next week. Anyone fancy a bit of campsite research?

For starters though, how many would be wanting to camp? If it's the majority then we'll probably have to book somewhere to ensure we get enough pitches...

I am happy to camp too.
I have one spare 2-3 person tent and can get another no problem if anyone needs it, also got a couple of spare sleeping bags that can be borrowed.

Are we def on for this weekend amigos as need to make sure I've got the time off. Any links to where it is also? Do I need a tent or will there be an old barn I can crash in like the Wales meet lastyear (hopefully without the midges!).
