Also i think I can get in contact with the people whom have drawn the 480 ???
Does this include the cabriolet. I would like to see the engineering drawings for that with a view to redesign (if necessary) for cost effective kit.
The drawer lives in Belgium, 2km from me....

I think that visiting PD&E and the Born factory would be super.
However I don't think these places are visitable over the weekend.

who knows ??

It may well be possible to visit in the weekend.
PD&E not, because that isn't Volvo anymore, but the plant in Born still is.

If Volvo cooperates (how can they refuse???) it must be possible.

But I am awaiting further info on what is possible and arranged.

The club must make decisions for otherwise it will be too late.

@Daniel any news ???

Wich clubs will cooperate ???

De factory in Born is of Mitsubishi/ Daimler-Chrysler. Volvo isn't involved there. Better option is to see the production in Belgium of the C30.
PDE is quite boring actually at the moment. They seems to do only exhaust systems for Japanese cars...
But im slighty biased.

Any one going to Geneva this year?

The meeting will indeed be around the pentecost weekend. Probably not ON the weekend because it will be quite hard to acquire accomodation during the pentecost weekend, but two weeks earlier or later. when more details are known the meeting will appear in the meetings section, newsletters will be sent and it will be mentioned on the forum.

I understood it was mostly the German Club who were setting this up. Why not leave the date that they offered ? (being 1st>5th June)

Is there any chance that there could be a set-in-stone date for this? Maye somebody could contact the organisers? I really would like to go, but holiday slots are filling up thick and fast at work so i need to be booking....

Anybody know? :dunno:

ferry prices:
well, it was £29 single on the sea cat. but they've "ceased operations" for some reason.
maybe the season?

otherwise you can get the inter-city from folkestone to calais, for £49.

there's plenty of other routes mind you, like from harwich, hull etc...but i havn't looked into prices

Hi all,

we finally managed to select a date for this grand happening: the weekend May 12th - 14th. At first the pentecost weekend (as usual) would be the one to use, but since it will be much harder to book accomodation in that weekend we decided to go for a different weekend. :D

More details will be worked out, exact location is undetermined at the moment, but it will be most likely be inside Germany, somewhere in the west. We will keep you updated as soon as more details have been worked out!

Sorry to hear that, you'll be probably missing out on the first 100+ Volvo 480 meeting . You might be able to quit your job, or call in sick?
