ANNOUNCEMENT: Added some stuff to the FAQ

Post by coyote1980 » Thu Jan 27, 2005 10:06 pm

No no no, no need for worries, no new crazy stuff with the forum ;).

Just wanted to let you know I added two pages to the FAQ. One is a list of all error flash codes that Ben Harris posted on the forum ages ago (was meaning to post ot for ages as well, finally did it). And while I was at it I also installed a simple guide for installing footwell-lights in your beloved 480 :D

FAQ with list of error flash codes
FAQ on installing footwell lights

Hope you like it!

Cheers,

Daniël

Add to the footwell lights:Some cars might allready have the wires with connectors for the footwell lights in the place, they are bind together with other wires, nearby the installation place.

Just ordered the frames for fitting and the part number on the site is wrong. Do you want the correct number when I pick the parts up. Going to be Saturday now as the kids don't want a ride out this morning and night shifts don't permit me getting them before Saturday now.

The other parts I got from a breakers so don't know the correct numbers. Also one of the numbers has been suprceeded (Need a spell checker on the forum?)

btw Yes I did like it Daniel. Inspiration for a small and hopefully quick and easy(?) project.

Apparently my information was incorrect and indeed the part no. for the frame, item 3, is correct when I checked against the packet in which it came. I think the confusion may have arisen through vague part descriptions from VADIS and being done over the phone.

So far the job has gone well with the two lights wired in and working. Going to have to splice into the feed for the keyhole light as I couldn't find anything in the loom as per bbf post. Just need to put it all back together tomorrow in daylight.

Hi,

I also used the wiring for the keyhole lights. Be sure to disconnect the battery because I almost fused the socket for the bulb to the metal of the steering column

O yeah, promised a piccie of the footwell lights. Just ran outside with my camera while being an influenza-recovering-patient

Job finished this morning in time before the snow started. Took somewhere between 2 and 3 hours total.
Thanks again Daniel for putting it in the faq and giving me the idea as I am not one for doing a lot of mods but this seems to have been worth the little effort required, and minimal cost also.

job done (why didn't i remember this one before..)

http://photobucket.com/albums/v37/bbfbbf/480/inlight/

i used original covers, just cut out the shape of the light. the lights are from glovebox and the other from boot ilumination (offcourse from a scrap_yard or spare or whatever...). the back cover is needed only under steering wheel. it was all just 'plug and play' to the existing wiring..

please correct the numbers in faq!
(someone might order flat oil cooler instead of bulb, and 3276850 is superseded by 3460479)
bye!
