New version of the forum!

Post by dragon » Mon Jan 11, 2010 8:07 pm

New version of forum software has been installed. The look and feel will probably be changed over the coming days, so don't worry that the topstrap and links to main site are currently missing.

But if anything else isn't seemingly working, let me know.

TY

Dragon.

As for comments, no avatar pics and I dont seem to have an 'Edit post' button at mo. (otherwise this would be an edit added to post above)

In the case of the autologin, you probably need to clear your browser's cookie list (and then immediately exit and reload the browser) - it will have stored cookies for the old forum.

In the case of avatars - will look into this shortly - just a setting missed I suspect

EDIT: Ta-da!

Only moderators can edit posts in this forum, don't think it has been extended to all other too, I've got edit everywhere and a load of new buttons to play with!

The autologin doesn't seem to work on FF or IE atleast. I haven't used the old forum at all on IE and it didn't work. Tried to clear the cookies on FF too and didn't do any difference.

This problem is not new though on this forum. Some time back it did the same thing with the dragons.org.uk domain while the northernscum.org.uk worked ok. So I tried to log in via http://volvo480.northernscum.org.uk/forum and the autologin worked there ok. So until it is fixed, use northernscum.org.uk domain to make autologin work :)

It works on firefox on a mac if that helps, I don't know about safari though, can't say I use it much.

I hate Firefox :-)

FF is too slow to use it.

Hi,

http://volvo480.dragons.org.uk/forum/ is not setting any cookies.

This is why the auto log on is not working.

http://volvo480.northernscum.org.uk/forum/index.php sets cookies and auto login works.

tested with Lynx

One possible bug. I'm not getting any topic reply notifications. Is anyone getting these?

I do not see or recognize new post icons on the forum pages.
(the ones that indicate new posts in the sub forums and topics)

If you login, you should see Orange rings on the subforum buttons if there are any new topics?!
