New rims and 40mm lowering

The Volvo 480 looks good as is, but if you have the desire to give it a more personal look you can find out what others did to their 480 and be inspired.

Hi,

The spoiler originally is from a 106, a saxo or a Opel Corsa (Vauxhall Nova?) I'm not sure. But it is definatly not a Volvo spoiler!

Haha thanx! I love it too!
Only problem is that wheels get very dirty very quick, so have to clean often! :?

That looks seriously good!!! :hopping:

This is the moment that I made the decision to go for 17" too.

By the way, Ted, Wich ET-value do the rims have? Did you encounter any problems with the wheels touching the chassis? They seem to fit very nicely in the wheel arches!!

And would you be so kind to post the exact wheel measurements (205/40/17 and 7.0 x 17)?

And at last, what is the comfort like? I know it is always a little less comfortable, while the roadholding is way better, but is it still allright?

Thanks in advance!!

Euuh 205/40R17 7J ET33 I thought. I'm not sure, the wheels were originally black and mounted on a VW Corrado. I had them sandblasted and powdercoated silverflake. I have no problems with rubbing. Only when manouvring under full-lock the wheel rubs the innerarch.

lowered my 480 finally!

Post by hombre » Mon Jun 12, 2006 11:26 pm

hi to all, its been a while since ive been on here!!
i lowered my 480 limited ed on the weekend! ive got 16" tsw's, then on the front ive put 25mm wheel spacers and 10 mm on the back, could go a bit wider there but they rubbed when i had the 25 on the back aswel, it looks awsome, im thinkin though it looks a fair bit lower than the turbo with the 17s on here, strange, i should stick some pictures up for you all to see what you think.
I guess i didnt change the shocks aswel.

i also added a sub and amp in the boot!! ah it makes me laugh!
how do i get pictures up on here???

Can't seem to find that spoiler as a standard spec part for 106, saxo or corsas/novas. Which model/year was it from, and was it modded in shape to fit?

edit actually looks similar to this
