480 badge for tailgate by Renault!:-)

The Volvo 480 looks good as is, but if you have the desire to give it a more personal look you can find out what others did to their 480 and be inspired.

thanks philip!

so then i wonder if volvo do the really big door stickers for the trucks?
could have one across youre back window groomy, or even go for the racer look and have one on each door.....or maybe across the bonnet?

or you could maybe ask mr laserowl to do you a 480 graphic at whatever size, and he might be obliging??

It was to big Kenny,I got sent the measurements through from Renault.

It wasnt so much this though that put me off,as the fact that it had a curve in it shaped to the Renault cab. This would have split if I had mounted it flat on the tailgate I feared!

Anyway,it was £22 from Renault Trucks.RH Humphries in Diss,Norfolk were the guys I used...

Ain't had a chance to measure the latest Volvo (truck) badges, but the '420' badge on one of the trucks in our yard is approx 45mm tall (think thats right, measured it with a fag packet!), these are definately flat, will check again tomorrow and take photo if I get the chance.

Marv!

Yep,it was £23 + VAT for the 480 hp one mate!

I have a feeling these may still look too big a font for our tailgates.Mind you,it could look like it was saying in big letters "Im a bloody 480 ok?Get over it"!!
Perhaps a little bit of vinyl graphics from Wayne underneath reading "Im the only wege in the village and thats that"!!

That was from Renault trucks wasn't it? Did you try Volvo trucks? FM/FH range are Volvo (sorry didn't think about specifying when posted before) also Volvo ones appear to be flat.

Here are a few different truck badges to think about, all use seperate numbers/letters and are essentially flat, and as the manufacturers all make various bhp output engines I would imagine all the necessary didgits are available from each. All are roughly the same size but the FH/FM ones are the only ones that I have actually measured.

VOLVO FH/FM (these are approx 60mm wide by 45mm tall) I'm not certain that these are the same as the current models use as this lorry is approx 4 years old.

IVECO (something slightly different)

If I manage to get any others I'll post them here for anyone thats interested. :D

Yey!Nice work matey!

The FH/FM ones are in the same font style as the facelifted 440/460s wore.Something which, thanks to you,the whole forum can now see here!

Had the 480 had a badge style update like the 440/460 it would no doubt have been in this fontus!

If I've time and the opportunity this week I'll nip in to Volvo Truck and Bus in Glasgow and get a price for '480'. Let you know as and when.

Ok here it is then.............

Part number VO 20551275 from your friendly local Volvo Truck and Bus dealership for the princely sum of £20.62 inc VAT.

Anyone interested can find their nearest Volvo T&B here

Unfortunately no letters except FH, FM and VOLVO, mine might just end up a '480' and leave it at that.

Ohh, I like that 480 badge. It looks like a new version of the original 480 badge, as if it's just been upgraded - A bit more curvy and it looks great!

Does the 'Volvo' come in the same style? You could certainly jazz up the rear end with these truck badges.

Kenny, have you considered using an 'S' from another vehicle to go on the end of your 480 badge? I'd quickly push you towards the 'S' in a Bini Cooper badge, or even the Audi 'S' Sport badge..
