alloys.......what are the most beautiful?

The Volvo 480 looks good as is, but if you have the desire to give it a more personal look you can find out what others did to their 480 and be inspired.

Cheers Pol, they are volvo "canis" wheels off a late model 460. The pictor wheels are nice as well in my opinion!

heres a pic of my canis:

Hi Crockett,

what wheels someone prefers is really personal, a real matter of taste just like what is th best colour etcetera ;)

I personally like the VESA rims very much, all 480-rims can be seen if you go to the website (follow the 'Home' link at the top), then log in there, go to 'Volvo 480', then go to 'Accessories', then go to 'Wheels' et voila :D

Murf, I was thinking of the second pic, as they are basically the same as the top pic but with a slit in the spokes.

Top pic ones look really good though. Have they had a re-furb? Think i'd like either of those if i was going to buy original volvo alloys.

The best original wheels for the 480 are the taurus wheels ;D

The atlas are nice to by design, there just to small, I mean: 14" come on!!!! :P

@Pol Just one thing about the Canis/Pictor rims though matey-:Unlike the Taurus theyare 5.5J not 6J.This makes a big visual difference. The wheels,in my opinion, need to fill the arches more as it is,especially those wide front arches!!!!

Me buying Canis for mine were proof of this.Spent 200 quid on em with nice Avon rubber on.Fitted, then thought fuck my wheels look skinny.Sold em straight on,back on with the Tauri!!!

RH Cups 16" are the nicest alloys Ive ever seen on a 480.They look like theyre meant to be there.Daniel480 in Germany had some so back in the old posts you should be able to find a pic of these.A little like Porsche Cups i think. :D

I have some rims similar to those posted by Coyote, but the volvo emblem is much, much smaller, with more 'spokes' and little holes. No idea if they are after-market, but were on the 480 i bought with the Theiss kit. Anyone any ideas? I'll post a couple of pics soon, if that helps.

They're also quite similar to the GT alloys, altho - unsurprisingly - i do prefer mine.
Parts stockpiled for future Turbo project:
Full Theiss Bodykit (requiring refurbishment) inc Front and Rear Fogs
New Rear Clusters
New Clear Front Indicators
Custom Hard Load Cover With 6 Speaker System and 'Cargo Hatch'
Digital Clock
Auxiliary Gauges

I don't think the spokey BBS style alloys suit our cars at all.

i dont think it makes a huge difference. the main thing i notice between the 2 is that taurus have a slight dish on them where as canis are flat faced. i'm running 195 tyres on mine and it deffo beefs them up a bit.
danm thing needs the grip too!!!

what width are cetus? 5.5j as well? the celebs got 195 tyres too and it looks pretty beefy :D

i wasnt all the keen on them either, maybe just cos i had to clean them with a toothbrush!!!!
anyways they have gone to scrapton-on-sea so i dont have to clean them anymore. pity as i could have sold them 3 times over since they left my ownership!!

Yes 5.5J are the cetus

The only original 15" wheels that are 6J are: Vega, Vesa and Taurus, personally I to think that the 5,5J wheels incombination with the STD 185 tyres look small on the car.

I have 195/50 on my cetus wheels and in my opinion it´s the same story altough 195..too much empty space in the wheel arches..I think 195/55 on 5,5J would look better.

A set of Vega wheels would be nice. I also like Vesas, Lyras and...damn, you should have them all :D
