Lambo doors

The Volvo 480 looks good as is, but if you have the desire to give it a more personal look you can find out what others did to their 480 and be inspired.

Lambo doors

Post by dragon » Sun Jul 10, 2005 12:41 pm

Well, some of you know that for the last 3 months or so, every now and then, myself, Laserowl and Lee come together to do a bit more work on my car - it's always a good day, since it happens quite infrequently due to people's shift patterns. Other stuff goes on in the background, but we try and get big things done on the days we can get together.

And yesterday was one of those days, and a bit of a special one it was too, as it was the day we tried to figure out the mass of plate metal that made up the lambo kit I had acquired some time ago.

Now, let me explain that the kit has instructions on the web (http://www.autofashion.co.uk/fitting_instructions1.htm), but frankly, they are SHITE! (3 whole pictures, and the kit isn't the same one!!!) - so we really were thinking on the fly and hoping we got it right before we did any cutting down etc.

But after MANY hours, lots of cutting, grinding, oxyacetelene'ing and welding, we had one side of the doors spot welded/clamped in place as proof of concept :)

Then bonnet will be OK (the top of the kit in the pics will be cut), but the wings need modifying in 2 places, so we're currently working out what to do there :)

Ohhh that was a good day, so the car is being stored at the home for mentally disturbed 480s

Like those alloys, what are they?

Um, no. What made you think that? :dunno:

We it there yesterday for the work, and it's staying there till we get the other door sorted and everything welded up properly, then it's back to it's normal location...

Strange what people read into things. But then that was proven earlier when people also thought I'd sold the car, despite me never saying so...

Lol, those are called 'Venoms' Adam. At one time, in the late 90's they were very very fashionable, but now...well it'd be like taking a yoyo to school Think they are lee's spare set.

They're TSW Venoms, I bought some with low profile tyres on them for 50 quid on e-bay from a golf gti owner. Then I got my Cetus, swapped the tyres and and sold my old rims to some bin-men for 28 quid. I think they're on my car on the photobucket pics... which was before I cracked the nose too :cryhard:
