Bodykits! What's happening with this!?

The Volvo 480 looks good as is, but if you have the desire to give it a more personal look you can find out what others did to their 480 and be inspired.

Bodykits! What's happening with this!?

Post by MatBat » Wed Jun 01, 2005 9:01 pm

RIGHT!

I have been a member of this forum for a while now and over that time there has been lots of talk about bodykits, so far no-one has come up with anything concrete. Does ANYONE know of someone witha bodykit in the UK? I would be prepared to buy the initial kit and get copies made for people but need to find one first. Come on people, many heads are better then one! And there must be some kits in the UK.

Mark, i remember it, it wasn't bad looking but it was fooking massive! Far too big for the 480.
I'm not that keen on things like the Hausser, seems to make the car look rather stubby.
And the Volvo kit... (sorry Roo  )

Someone has to design something as beautiful as the car itself.

I will keep my eyes open though. Totally agree that we have to cooperate to get results....

I think the Theis kit would have to be my favourite.

Nope, some photos and memories is all there is still left, but that is another off-topic story. Sometimes I regret my decision (I loved to be at the lux meeting) but someday i'll start the project over.

All I wanted to say was; don't make it a general tought about: " a tuned 480 is ugly " ... It is just the way it is tuned that makes it ugly. If someone with taste and eye for the original lines of that car tunes it, it can become even more stunning ...

It's one of cleanest looking 480's in my opinion.

Bakke, i must admit it looks real nice- but the only pix i saw before were the ones of the red 480 in the bodykits and i really didn't like it.

I find with 480's you have to see them "for real", photos just often don't work for some reason.
EG quite a few 480 colours i haven't liked in photos, but when seen in real life they look good.

That kit was so beautiful.
It had no unneeded curves and seams on it
Shame on you Bakke

Vince you fag, off all the people I know, you where the last one I expected to come shitting on me. You should know better and as you know me personally why I took the decision.

Lets not whine about it, keep her spirit alive, and maybe someone will come out with a simular project.... there has to be someone around....

Bart, I am quite confident in time you will get the urge to finish a similar project decently, you just know you want to! 8)

Hi all,

I know i've been quiet for a while, that's cause my 480 died, some problem with fuel feeding in and with final year uni and stuff i ain't got round to fixing her yet. On which note anyone selling a turbo or a GT?

Anyway, yes i've still got the kit, not done anything with that either yet, i've agreed to let Mat loan it for moulds, i just need to get it off the donor car first, should be within the next couple of weeks. After that we can hopefully get some more kits made!
