Volvo 480 seats

The Volvo 480 looks good as is, but if you have the desire to give it a more personal look you can find out what others did to their 480 and be inspired.

Volvo 480 seats

Post by Hkerswell » Sun Mar 07, 2021 9:25 pm

Hey everybody I'm new to this form and I have just recently got myself a volvo 480 2.0 es special edition and I'm looking to upgrade the seats I currently have to the leathers which were with the 1.7 turbo I believe. If anybody is selling any please let me know!

Hello, and welcome to the club ! Congrats on buying a special edition - is it the two tone ? (Peacock green and silver with a grey half leather interior)
The turbos actually came with the same cloth interior as the ES and S. The black full leather interior was an optional extra so you might find one from anything other than a GT or Celebration. The GT had full leather but in dark green with a rather wacky pattern printed onto the centre panels. The Celebration also had full leather but in grey and black with ruching on the side seat panels and door/dash inserts. The rescue group has a Celebration for breaking with a decent interior, but it may be spoken for.
I hope this helps, and we get to meet you and your 480 sometime this year when we are able to start having meetings again.
Meanwhile any problems or questions just ask - this is the right place to get help and information from our very friendly members.

All I'd add to Sylvia's comments is that if you can find Celebration interior, it was a softer, slightly better quality leather than the one that was available throughout as an optional upgrade, and seems to last a bit longer if it's been looked after...

Good luck!

I would be highly surprised, I thought the blue piping didn't last longer than '90 at the very latest

I do believe the elusive seats with blue piping sit in an unsold late ES. In case anyone is wondering about the interest, they should have been in R1.

Okay brilliant thank you for pointing me in the direction to look and yes it is the two tone coloured one. Various bits of work to do but yes hopefully I can come along with it!

No just your standard grey cloth, it's a 93 if it helps with your sherlock homing 😂

I dont know what carpet the two tones got, but suggest you check the carpet colour if you get seats from a late car. You might find you need the boot carpet as well to match the back of the rear seats.
