are the stone chip stickers on leading edge of rear arches available, or is the same material available from other locations?

arches are getting scruffy (weel actually scruffier) and would like to tidy this up but there is rusty blob just under the edge :-(

other car is suffering from chipping and thought might replace the clear sticky patch

That's the stuff

knowing what it's called is half the battle, the actual area to be covered is a good bit wider than 60mm but it depends on how the colour looks when removed . . .

so I can see if there are bigger sections available (or leave it off)

you'd know if it was still there :-)

I know the stuff as erosion tape. It will work very well but as it is transparent it will turn yellowish eventually (5+ years).

I think originally it was a foil that was painted over. ‎

Personally, I would leave it off as I doubt it does anything useful. However, I know the pursuit of originality can be like a‎ mental disorder so totally understand why you'd want to put it back! I suffer myself!

Paint is (was ) red and TBH it does seem to have prevented the paint getting shot blasted, the SS1 has a similar amount of arch 'protrusion' and it's fairly chipped, but it doesn't matter as they are injection moulded wings

'pursuit of originality' afraid that's not a term I'm familiar with

Managed to slice through the the bit of tape that was over the wheel arch, but not through into the paint , cleaned up area sufficient to remove rust , repaint, so job done!!

oddly the ALDI paint matches pretty well at top of wheel arch but not at the bottom next to the sill, paint faded in different degrees in different areas :-(

I knew different each side but thought all drivers side would be same colour. . . ..

oh those are posh, I'll just stick to my carefully trimmed ones I think.

TBH a sharp knife and a steady(ish) hand trimmed the area reasonably well , Ok enough to not be seen at twenty paces :-)

Forgot to mention, I found someone via facebook who can remake these if you're still looking? VERY reasonably priced!

define 'reasonable' :-)

I'll be having the annual wheel arch attack/repair in summer time so I'll see how I get on with colour matching/removal of metal/Paint/filler etc
