...coming loose and are scruffy. For instance the driver's trim is coming off and catches on the wing so needs attention.

I want to take them all off, would it look cool? Has anyone else done this?

Yeah a few people have asked this question recently and the general consensus is yes - the 480 does look good with the side moldings removed. There is a nice groove hidden underneath which actually suits the shape of the 480. The main problem is getting rid og the glue which sticks them on, or 'guerilla snot' as some previous members called it

I took the Driver's panel off the other day and was shocked to see the condition of the paint underneath!!
The glue stole some of the paint!! I'm going to have to take her to the paint shop or glue on the piece again.
Since there's a rust bubble on the sill I'll take her to the body shop and get them to remove the strips and sort the paint under it!

Any tips to remove the glue peps??

Carb cleaner is your best bet, you need something v harsh to remove it and plenty of elbow grease!

Something like this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WURTH-CARB-and-IN ... 2308a4debc

That's what I used and it melted the guerilla snot in seconds but didn't damage the paint at all. It wasn't that particular brand but I'd imagine there wouldn't be a huge difference.

You can see in these pics what mine looked like without them: http://file041a.bebo.com/2/large/2008/0 ... 01715l.jpg

Thanks for the photos David. Your right, it does look quite cool. My flame red celeb' would probably suit it even better me thinks!!

I ordered some of that spray but I do need to repaint under the molding I've already taken off as it took some paint with it!!
