Fitting a rear venetian blind

The Volvo 480 looks good as is, but if you have the desire to give it a more personal look you can find out what others did to their 480 and be inspired.

...I know about that... Had the same problems...
Be careful when travelling with luggage: The plastic parts of the blind are extremely breakable!!

Looking nice. That's encouraged me to pull my finger out and get mine fitted now :)

Sorry for digging this thread out,

i was trying to fit my blind again and glue them back on the window, as the usual adhesive stripes (besides the original ones) just wont hold it, so i took out the manual to see how it should fit.

But what the heck is wrong with volvo, they say 220mm from the left, 195mm from the right? So when u do it like manual says, its perfectly leaning to one side / asymmetric.

Its not that much of a Problem to just even the sides, but i cant figure out any reason for this.

I can undertand your doubt. I thought the same thing when I mounted mine ( http://volvo480.dragons.org.uk/forum/vi ... 19&t=18248 )
In my opinion there's no reason to observe those istructions...I fitted mine in that way (about the measures) but with some difference to avoid breakage due to the effort (too hard to explain, I'm not able in English. I'll show you a pictures of mine tomorrow)

My suggestion is to assemble the Venetian B before mounting on the rear window (but without the blades); so you can install it considering at the same time what is the best way to avoid breaking.

I removed the original self-adesive stripes (used) and I applied new one made by 3M under the entire surface of the "foot".

Hope this can help you...
