Clear front indicator lenses...

Just wondering if anyone can help with regard to NEW clear front indicator lenses.

I'm pleased to say,I recently joined the fold of 480 owners with the purchase of a really nice 1992 480 Turbo in Paris Blue.

Only let down slightly are the front amber indicator lenses which I want to replace with the clear type.

I have had a pair on order with Nordic Direct since the 12th July and i think they are having problems obtaining the offside lens.

Does anyone know of another outlet....

Hi, welcome. Have you tried a main dealer? They are available (or were a year ago), at about £30 a side.

Got a feeling the connectors are different & will need a bit of modification.

Oh, hadn't realized,I hope its not to complicated to change. I'm waiting to hear back from Nordic Direct and if they are still
having problems,I shall source my nearest main dealer and try them.....

I just have a vague memory of having to do some mods when I changed mine; nothing major. Point is, the new clusters come complete with bulb holders & bulbs & I think the connectors may be different.

When I bought mine for my K plate they fitted with no mods needed, just used the bulbholders that came with them

just pop up the lights, undo the screw, slide them out and disconnect the indicators and running light - do the reverse to fit the new ones.

remember to release the bonnet catch, this ensures the lights dont go back down and trap your arm or whatever may be in the way ouch!

If I were you I would cancel the order with Nordic who seem to be messing you about and go straight to a Stealership. My local one charged me £40 per side including VAT (and with some bartering they even posted them to me FOC). They arrived within 5 working days !!

Heard back from Nordic direct today,apparently they get there supplies from volvo .They have had a back order on these lenses since July with Volvo but cannot get any confirmation when more lenses will be available...Bit worrying...They are contacting volvo again and will let me know what they say...ho hum

I'd go to Volvo direct. My dealer is showing them as available. £35 + VAT each.

Yeah,I think Ill give my nearest dealership a ring tomorrow and cancel Nordic if they have them......

well I had the same response from my local volvo dealers...only the nearside lenses are available...same as nordic are saying

Well, my local dealer doesn't hold them in stock, but when he looked them up for me, there was no indication that they weren't available.

Well i rang the dealership and again was told that volvo are no longer making the drivers side clear front indicator lenses...I guess

I'll just have to get the amber ones until someone decides to make a pattern part.

Have just canceled my order to Nordic Volvo for the clear lenses as they are no longer available and decided to get the amber ones.Heres the thing...
I went to Nordic on the assumption that as a VOC member,I would get a discount...they were charging me £89.11 for the lenses and my local volvo dealership
only want £82 inc VAT. .......Hmmmm!!!
