ever seen a 480 with gulwing doors?

yust bought me a red 480 and after a discussion with my buddy who sels 480 parts and complete cars, decided to get a spare parts 480.
the spare parts car is a S and has bad wheelarches in the back but is a good runner, after a few glasses of jack and coke we started poundering the possibility of making gulwing doors in it.

besides reinforcing the roof structure (welding a tube frame in the roof) I dont see why not.
the plan was to cut the doors in half just under the guardstrips and welding the lower part in the car, the upper part with a portion of the roof would be fixed with hinges to the tube frame.
the lift would be achieved by mounting hood lift shocks from a benz e class (two on each side..)
what do you guys think?, has somone ever tried it, please give me your 5 cents wourth.

I think it'd be sweet but a lot of hard work and money!

that one is just slightly modificated... How would the handling be of a 452?

I was aware that there were atempts made to fit lambo doors, just have never seen a 480 (or no other regular car) with gulwing doors, the reason is probebley that a gulwing door is mega impractical when parking....

still think ill give it a go on the parts car, when its a bust ...well, I lost nothing, when it works I wil replace the body of my red 480 with the white one.
