Dare to be Different

The Volvo 480 looks good as is, but if you have the desire to give it a more personal look you can find out what others did to their 480 and be inspired.

Leave it there. The colour is enough to make it one of a kind.

Hopefully for 2009 - 1.7 Turbo.

I will third this sentiment. I love it as it is...

Changing the colour is all that needs to be done - I love the fact that had Volvo done the 480 in yellow, this is how it would look!!

I then thought of trying to get the 5-spokes from the 440/460, the ones that look like its a thick bit then a thinner bit behind it - sorry don't know the reference for them. Not been ale to find any though.......

Thought's people ?
17" wheels painted satin black would look ace!

Volvo dont do clear ones, they would have to be custom made. Unless you can find any one making non genuine ones :dunno:

See, now you've put doubt in there again with the photo-shop trickery.

I think I'll have to think it through again (in tune to Oliver !)

As for the clear side and back markers I think I saw a 480 on the forums with them, will have to trawl through and try and find it.

I think I maybe near the 10 post's - photo time.

Kinda reminding me of the 850 T5-R, yellow with the flat dark spokes.

Yup, one of the forum members made themselves some i believe. Look amazing, but as I said, custom builds only :(

Car looks great, nice to see one in Yellow.

This is where opinions divided-some people on the forum hate bodykits or anything to do with styling. It is nice to see a standard minter, but equally it is nice to see a modified 480, when done properly. I think it can be done in a subtle fashion-i thought mine was quite subtle to be honest, but i know some didn't like it. It's about finding a balance that you're happy with.

I was thinking along the lines of Ettore also, satin black wheels. The only hang-up i have with black wheels is how the tyres are kept. Dark or black wheels look really nice, but as soon as people stop dressing the tyres and they get that faded black look, they start looking odd. And not all tyres like tyre dressing either. I had a set of Michelins where the finish would last about 4 days, but on the front i had a pair of shitty corsa sport things (on my first 440), and the finish would last for weeks! The finish on the Toyo's i had on the 480 though lasted ages! I think it'd look nice lowered 40mm, on a set of black satin finished Pollux, with a matching yellow pin-stripe around the rim...deffo a marmite look, but i think it'd look nice!

With regards to the clear stuff, they were a home job by a member, but other than a brief appearance to say he'd be making them again about a year ago, maybe more, thats the last they were heard of. My Dad is making the reverse transition again and going to orange rear markers as the clear plastic ones he has have deteriorated quite badly...

Car's looking good though.... Didn't think i'd have much to write!

At the end it is your car.

I only vote for black wheels (with or without yellow stripe) when they are aftermarket wheels. I would 'ruin' Pollux wheels for that, because I know how it just to look in silver.
