The Volvo 480 looks good as is, but if you have the desire to give it a more personal look you can find out what others did to their 480 and be inspired.

I alway thought when it came to the rear wiper if you have it on and
it doen;t work you fail. Hence when mine packed up just before the
MOT I took it off and passed. Bolted it back on when I got home
but never got round to fixing it. I havn't missed it yet in 6 months of
driving with it bosted. So I might take the easy option and blank
it off.
I believe the same MOT trick works on your spare tyre? If your spare
is bald then you fail. If you spare is 'missing' you pass.

That's defo true of the spare tire, but the extra brake light and the rear wiper aren't part of the MoT because they're not necessities. You only need one wing mirror to be street legal so what difference is a rear wiper going to make if you look at it like that.

No its not.
The spare is NOT part of the test.
If your car fails on the spare then the tester is clearly a moron.
Likewise there is no requirement for the rear wiper to be working.

daughters car had a non functional rear wiper and passed MOT this week.

needs a wash/wipe every now and again-not just a wipe dont worry!!

I've been thinking of doing the same thing to my car. It would tidy it up quite a bit actually. Yours looks nice!
Currently my wiper stalk starts to blink the lights and it keeps short circuiting the horn when I try to use the rear wiper. Quite funny actually!

I woulden't remove the rear wiper personally, but on yours it looks great!
