the start of my project, finally

The Volvo 480 looks good as is, but if you have the desire to give it a more personal look you can find out what others did to their 480 and be inspired.

lower it, lesjöfors makes lowering springs in a good price range. Give you an 4cm drop. Wheels look sweet. Makes the 480 look way better than stock, that look like you are driving a train on a road.

sorry to be a bit off. But exactly what look are you going after. You have moved the full size front plate to the side and fit a square rear both of which are rice boy mods thinking it makes them go faster. Then the rear spoiler which you are having great difficulties securing and trust me it needs to be. I have wind tested all my products to 140mph(gps) to make sure that they don't come off or loose.

Now the horrid bit is over here is some advice

Refit the standard rear plate.
Front plate (move it) cur front plates look good do a search its been done. Stick on are ok again search for pics as its been done.
Drill the rear screen this can be done just take your time and use the correct drill bit. If your diy is not up the job go to a glazier and get them to do it. Then using a bolt to secure it to the glass and be sure to fit a plastic and rubber washer to the rear of the glass.

The moulds to the dbs rear spoiler have been sold and have never surfaced since. As for contacting does it bloody slow (dbs) for 480 parts you will be greated with attitude.
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I have to agree with Lee. In my opinion, you've taken a very unique car and then styled the front like an Alfa Romeo, and the rear end like any Japanese import.

It's at its most unique when it's completely standard!

when i bought the car, the numberplate surround was cracked and not looking too healthy, so i removed it and whilstthe fillers were drying i stuck the number plate on the side next to the holes. not done intensionally for styling just practicalitity at the time. intending on re-mountin it correctly when i get a few days to work on the car. thanks for the imput, possitive and negative advice is always welcome. im not trying to "boy racer" the car by any means, just looking for originality, if nobody ever was, car modifications would have never been inveted.

I get a bit rattled at anti-mod's etc, I can't help it. Yes, there have indeed been more ruined cars then I ever care to remember (Mynheers S70 R top's the list), but you can mod a car without it being ruined. I have to say, that as i'm getting a bit older, I prefer standard cars with manufacturers accessories, but that doesn't mean I don't like a well mod'd car...

Take my 480: I sprayed the grill, de-badged, stereo with speaker mods, steering wheel, interior, LED's, lowering....some slated the mod's (to start off with). Take Bakke's 480 (search for goldilocks or similar)-his car always got a thumbs up from everybody, and that was massively modified. And it is just a matter of taste too-some hate lowered 480's, I love them. I loved having decent audio (loud too), others hate it. As long as you don't end up looking like a knob it's ok!

As long as you don't cover it in stickers, or bolt bits on from other cars, or have different coloured work in progress body panels on permanently, I don't see the problem. Just remember to keep it subtle-don't make it stick out form the crowd, make it stand out from the crowd. You wouldn't think mine had been modified much at all, but it did have a fair bit done to it....just remember K.I.S.S.... Keep It Simple, Stupid...Sounds cheesy, but it always popped up in my head when I was planning a mod! Good luck and enjoy your 480!

I would sort of understand this mindset (and disagree with it) if it were a Corsa or something, but in the time I owned my 480, 14 months, I saw TWO other different 480s on the road.

It's not like there's a crowd of identical models to stand out from!

But each to their own, and what makes the owner happy, and all that, I guess.

all the boring old sticks on here will tell you its too beautiful a car to modify etc etc....dont listen to em!
modify away, as long as you are happy with the end product, it doesnt really matter that everyone else thinks it looks crap!

on a serious note though, ALL modifications body wise arent the product of some spotty kids with polystyrene and grp, theyre actually watered down versions of functional mods made to things like touring cars or race bred vehicles of some kind...remember this and you wont go far wrong...if it LOOKS functional, it will fit with the car, if it looks like an ironing board on your back window, you will be this months front page on barryboys.

have fun though whatever you decide

Nice, although I would consider putting white bumper stripes on it.

ettore has right, white bumper stripes would look great, especially with the oldschool mirrors

Don't like the mirrors. I think the wheels just about work. although I prefer white wheels with a black car.

I think that Volvo got the front numberplate spot on where they put it.

Are you going to get rid of the orange side repeaters at the back and change them for clear ones? It would look quite tidy then.
