someone pleeeeease tell me whether an 88 ES could have had something other than the 'orible black bumpers.
I am going to put colour codeds from a 92 ES on it but my aim is to kep the car real.
I'm hoping that colour coded bumpers were an optional extra in 1988. Then I can justify doing it.
Then I want to get car valued. Anyone got any ideas about that? 1.7 ES on an F plate. 53000 miles. Very very good condition for year and everything works. The original owner looked after it very well. No mods at all.

Off the top of my head-and I dont know if its something i imagined, or whether it is true-but I think that it was only non colour coded for the S and an option on the (early) ES....

There are a number of mechanical devices which increase sexual arousal, particularly in women. Chief among these is the Volvo 480 ;)

Back when the 480's first came out, my parents had 2 of them (one after the other - not at the same time) - They started off with an '88 ES in white, and then a year later traded it in for an '89 Turbo in petrol-blue, both brand new. I remember at the time my Dad telling me that you could tell which one's were the Turbo models, because they had the colour-coded bumpers, and the non-turbo's didn't.
So... based on that logic, the early early ES's all had black plastic bumpers. (no concept of the S models until sometime later on in the '90s)
Ben.

Thanks for that folks.
I think I'll take Esta's word for it and use the colour codeds anyway.
