Lowering on a budget!

The Volvo 480 looks good as is, but if you have the desire to give it a more personal look you can find out what others did to their 480 and be inspired.

Lowering on a budget!

Post by sambo » Thu Jan 17, 2008 5:21 pm

Hi guys and girls,

Im currently trying to revise for my finals and (rather than thinking about geophysics) I keep thinking about my 480 and things I need to do on it! :)

Im considering lowering it both front and back..... as Im quite a newbie at mods like this..... how expensive would parts be? Is it just new coils I would need? I thought it looked fantastic, until yesterday I was parked next to an A3 with 18" rims lowered completely...... and my poor 14" with the world surrounding them!

Also, to what level of lowering can I do without scuffing with a full car..... e.g 4 people and luggage?

Cheers guys! ....better get back to work now so I dont fail tomorrow morning

I think my springs were about £70 from Sutton something or other... Have a link:

I personally wouldn't go any lower than that on these cars... On a budget, that's all you'd need really.

Cheers for your advice guys. Those 30mm drops look about right for me. Will be the next thing on the list to do!

btw, hebruins, your 480 looks ace! do you not get any scuffing runing 17" with 40mm dropped?
