Front spoiler in the works

The Volvo 480 looks good as is, but if you have the desire to give it a more personal look you can find out what others did to their 480 and be inspired.

Is that just light reflecting weirdly, or is the spoiler quite bumpy near your front left wheel? For the rest it looks very nice, not vulgair or anything :)

its the light reflecting. Not the thing it self. The spoiler does have some weird spots. But just holding it on to see where some craks might come out. And where it would be weak.

I'm not sure how low down yours is compared to mine, but make sure the leading edge is well reinforced as mine is constantly grounding on speed bumps, uneven road surfaces etc etc. Luckily we built it thick and sturdy at the front so it just scrapes the under side as opposed to smashing it off! All other areas should be fine as far as ground clearance goes! :D

planning on some lowering springs so it gets lower. At the moment its as low as the cars bottom itself. And the front is 3 layers of fiberglass, thick layers and behind it I left the Fome I used for a mold and behing that is another 2 layers of fiberglass. I hope it holds :D

Wow, I'm sure that'll be more than enough! I've only got 3 layers on my leading edge and it's more than enough! I don't think you'll have a problem, you just have to be careful how fast you go over speed bumps etc etc.

I still don't like how it looks and I think gona redo it. Now I got myself a another front bumper. So I might get it a bit better this time. Last time I had to make the mold on the car. This time it might be a bit better.

Yeh it's much easier, I moulded mine onto an old '89 ES bumper I had in the garage to get the shape right and help visualise what I wanted, then chopped it off, and stuck it on the real bumper. Pain in the arse getting it sprayed the same colour though, cost me around £70, when I'd made the spoiler for free using offcuts from dad's workplace :cryhard:

I'm not really into big bumper holes with mesh, but that looks quite nice-would look really nice with a nice alloy intercooler behind it...;)

This mesh just covers up a hole size of the egggrate and lover part under it :)

not at the moment. And painted the mesh black so that it wouldn't stick out that much. Silver was to boyracer.

Car at my workplace. As you can see I work for a firm that makes all kinds of stuff from concrete. And she realy needs a wash. But that is soon to come cos we have over 0 C in here temp. Yeah, the spring is coming along.

PS: My car looks small compared to Toyota Yaris :) Now that is strange.

Virtually nothing is lower than a lowered 480. - Especially modern hatches...they're like towers.

I'm always amazed how low the 480 rides. I'm always struggling to wash my Peugeot 406 roof because I'm not too tall. I can easily reach my 480's roof though :)

I'm 1,88 m tall. So no problem with washing the roof.

The new spoiler looks very good!

Hhhmmm, how would it look if you painted in white Volvo on the mesh?

Mesh is made from polished aluminium so the paint doesn't want to stick to it. So the black paint is coming off agin
