Styled 480 from PL

The Volvo 480 looks good as is, but if you have the desire to give it a more personal look you can find out what others did to their 480 and be inspired.

I like what they've did on the half/half body colour. Black and white is a powerful tone, but when it comes to using them like this, sometimes I think it's a bit bold, even more so to a disadvantage on this car. Definately an interesting split down the curves though!

Doesn't suit the GT alloys, but them three spokes... Well, everybody says how three spokes is just pure, bad taste, but they can look good on a car that has the right curves and style. I think the dynamic styling of the 480 lets you get away with the three spokes, so they quite suit. One thing that goes against this though, is the silver wheels against the white body.

Must admit I love the number plate housing; I've been toying with this idea for sometime now and thinking of doing the same thing. At least I know now it works. :D

I want to get me a set of them three spokes! :volvo:

Doesn't look so bad I think.

But if you ask me it only starts to be "styled" as soon as the front foglight-surroundings are painted black again, there is a white turbo spoiler fitter and the bigger turbo-sidemoldings, white front clusters, the car is lowered and has a set of nice 17" wheels.

Then it is styled and the two-tone paintsceme will look much better ;)

I always wondered about how it would look on a white 480 to have a black roofpanel. This is a bit too much...
I am also planning on relocating the numberplate, but you'll have to do some work on the nose to get a clean look.
I also have a black bonnet on my 480, but it gets resprayed as soon as my wallet allows.

What happend to his rear wiper arm?

I love seeing pictures of 480's like this cos i think the black is a great idea ... and in practice it looks good ... to a point, but in my opinion the bonnet and nose cone was a bit too far! They should have been left white if you ask me.

Image

If you look at the likes of the mini above ... they really suit the pillars and roof being a different colour, and i think the 480 would be the same.

The look that 480 has is the beginning of a Jap style car... something you'd expect to see on a driftworks car, or some form of silly hp Nissan. It's interesting to see-i was considering a 480 project a while ago with a similar theme.

The bonnet and nose cone is a bit too much-if they were Carbon fibre, then it would be ok 'cos carbon fibre just looks cool. But painted....can look like a crash repair. Harsh but thats what it makes me think. The white is too much-too much of a contrast. If the car had been lowered and a non-standard colour used, then you could pull it off...but it would have to have that sort of street-racer-car look. As it stands, can't knock the idea, it takes balls to be a bit different, but you have to be so so careful with a 480...

EDIT: Just looking through Google...not so much the yellow, but to get the black roof/boonet/pillar thang to pay off, you need to be looking these sorts of colours imo:

I think it's not the end of modding. He's plannig to put turbo engine lower it and put some bigger alloys. Maybe he'll have front spoiler. That's how his plan looked a year ago. Let's hope he still wants to do it ;)

Yeah nice shiny car.

In England when we do a cut and shunt we weld the front+rear of a car together not the top and bottom.

Then we re-spray it the same colour.

Not keen at all.

The white covers far too much of the sides of the car.If its got to be black and white, have the line further down the cars sides.

Yuk
