Rim selection

The Volvo 480 looks good as is, but if you have the desire to give it a more personal look you can find out what others did to their 480 and be inspired.

I think there are MANY other topics as well that does not belong there. But I think this subject is already on its last legs so it would've died soon anyway. This just speeds it up :)

It was me, I usually leave a note in the OP, don't know why I didn't this time probably forgot. Anyway I saw it as Styling your project 480 with custom rims hence the move to the forum. If I am wrong I am glad to admit it and will move it else where.

Also no threads have been or will be 'axed' (except for spammers of course) threads get moved but not deleted.

Hope this is ok

I choose the AVEZ type A. It looks very clean and the Borbet wouldn't under the 480 with that massive dish.
The Borbet is far too sharp too fit with the 480 styling. It also give the 480 a Ford Escort XR3i boy racer look.
Not something you would want as being a gentlemen driving a Volvo...

Perhaps BBS, ATS, Ronal have some nice wheels in their programm.

If you could post a pic with your 480 in the same angle as the wheels I might do a Photoshop of the bunch.

off-topic: Adam did the right thing, this is a styling thread and nothing else. The wheels-section is meant for original Volvo 480 parts and issues only.

Back on-topic: I really like the Borbets, so they had my vote too! I don't know where, but I vaguely remember a Volvo-press picture or some bodykit picture with rims that looked like this. Very brutal, suit the car nicely :D

I vote Azev A and the Fox second, the Borbet are far too heavy looking, the 480 is quite light and fast looking even when stationary, I think the Borbet would weigh it down visually (Sorry if thats a bit long winded) :) .

Kenny :D
Y reg mk1 XR2 - braw fun, now departed
H reg 480 ES Just Goes, now departed
M reg 480 2.0l S (Chassis No 592056) Even better, still going (for now)
Thinking about a turbo - it's all your fault, mind you, saw a black XR4i the other day...........

Azev is closing the cap on borbets :)

vbb: no worries mate ;) my bad

red: Wow, is there room for 9"? I think I'd be going with the 7.5" on width. The lip is a bit more subtle on the 7.5" also so I'm thinking it would look a bit better? Well lets wait for pics then and see? :)

Mmmmm Compomotives nice! There a bit more Rally Slag (than the euro style turbos), but they are sweet wheels. They look good in Blue with white decals! I have to say the side skirts of that 480 look phat.

Ronal turbos come in various offset from 38 to 20 so they would fit with a bit of jiggery pokery!

And as for ATS cups, they are cool as well :D

Nope, close but it really was a picture, not a sketch. Oh well, maybe in a year or so I will dig it up somewhere, lol!

There you go a third rate photoshop of a 480 on R10's (plus lots of little body mods)

EDIT: Oh shit its tiny! I will get a better pic tomorrow!

I didn't want to open a new topic, so I posted it here.

I have these rims laying around. I use them for trackdays, hence the slicks.
But I am more and more liking the looks of these under my 480.
Any opinion about these?
I am thinking of spraypaint them in black/antracite with a small red edge.

Maybe someone can even photoshop them under my white 480?

I think it would look better if you'd just polish the lip.
