More Black Wheels (cheers Levin ;))

The Volvo 480 looks good as is, but if you have the desire to give it a more personal look you can find out what others did to their 480 and be inspired.

More Black Wheels (cheers Levin ;))

Post by Dan the 480 Man » Thu Jul 13, 2006 12:16 pm

As a bit of a follow up from Levin's idea. I've always fancied Grey/Anthracite coloured alloys, but black has become a more popular colour of late and it's grown on me alot. Thanks to Rohan i managed to sort my buckled Taurus with a good one, so i had a spare one to play with. I'm planning on having the wheels re-furbished anyway, so it's not something thats gonna cost me loads. The place i'm having them done does loads of colours, and as long as they have the colour you want in stock it cost's exactly the same...

So i rummaged through the bin in the garage and got some left over black spray paint, and this is what i came up with...

Then i Photoshopped it on to the actual wheel...

And then on the whole car (my missus liked them too, can't you tell )

Image

Now, i think if done to a gloss black as per Levin's post they would look pretty cool...but do they look good or is it just me? Is it too much on a White car?

The wheels look fine, but I'd have a word with your girlfriend about her make-up. Still, she looks happy.

They look great. Try photoshopping them with a silver rim and a black center though. ;)

Looks not bad at all. Although catgroom has a point about the anthracite.
It looks quite ray without the wheel cap.

Polished rims and black spokes are cool but they do give the impression that they are smaller than they acctually are.

If its a black wheel with a black tyer on it it looks bigger as it is harder to see where the tyre starts and the wheel stops.

If you know what i mean. :D

Think the full black thing is too much imo. Looks as if there's onyl rims and no rubber in the photo! I'd try detailing in grey to break it up a bit.

Nice to see something different though. :)

Just a thought,but can anyone do a photoshop of a 480 with the 16" anthracite/nearly black Speedlines from the 96/97 Alfa 155??

Can find a bloomin pic at the mo,not helped by the fact that the www.carsfromitaly.com sites been taken off!Hardly surprising really, most of it obviously being car pornography!
