Bakke - Redcap project

The Volvo 480 looks good as is, but if you have the desire to give it a more personal look you can find out what others did to their 480 and be inspired.

Bakke - Redcap project

Post by Bakke » Fri May 26, 2006 3:16 pm

Ok, as many know I don't dare to drive Goldlocks trough the week because of all the time and money I've spended on her, so I got me a 92 ES as my daily driver and workhorse.

But, it's an old car with bits and bruises I want to rework first. The paint has faded too (the red became pink) so after the body work it'll get some new paint too.

My dilemma, I've got some nice colors in my head, but I don't want it to become an eyecatcher that pulls away all the attention of goldlocks, so I need your advice which color to take ...

the original 231 480 red
the 480 322 flame red
or the PCC 441 lazer blue (my favorite)

@ Bakke On that note how about Opel Corsa Bile Green?????

I say blue Bakke, but are u limiting yourself to these colours???

Personally I love 471 Willow Green Pearl that V40/S40s come in.That would suit a 480 I think.

Not to everyones taste though!

I never take green for a car. Personally, I don't like any green as color on a car. I'm not limited to these colors, but those were the colors I like most...

... but the girlfriend has decided ; she wants the flame red so must obey ...

Besides the saffron and laserblue (i think that doest realy do the 480 justice on that pic above, much better on a V70R) are the best volvo collors i'd suggest that Ocean blue, or whatever the color might be.

If you've seen one on the streets you have to know what im talking about.

@ Bakke,

Are you spraying the cars yourself?
I need my car to be sprayed because of some rust coming through the reaar wheel arches, but it will cost quite an ammount of money Allthough it is done by someone I know. Was just wondering. how you will be doing that.
