480 rear wheel arches

hello all, just bought a 1991 480 and the rear arches are tatty I have been reading posts on the 440/460 arches but could anyone tell me how to go about fitting them, do you have to cut the old ones off, do you have to pop rivet / weld the new ones on and then bodge the joint, any help.

may I be the first to welcome you to the club, as a newbie myself I can say that the members are helpful and friendly.
