SNOW COVERS

The Volvo 480 looks good as is, but if you have the desire to give it a more personal look you can find out what others did to their 480 and be inspired.

Well before i let it go out to the club it will first have to go through my special testing. If it stands up to my testing then it will stay on.

How do people feel about doing a group buy on this?

I'm interested in one too if shipping is possible to Belgium.

BTW, you're talking about the upper bonnet air intake, which is not really a snow cover.
The snow cover is illustrated at the image 6 while the original air intake is shown on picture 5.

7 yrs since I did any french....and I didn't really pay attention then...

This elegant protective cover, prevents rain and snow from penetrating the engine compartment.
something something in extreme climatic conditions.

I think?

Get teh gist of it.

The top cover was to stop snow getting in to the engine bay and the grill cover was to stop the flow of cold air to the car so that the engine would heat up quicker in the extreme winters

Can anyone translate what number 4 is? Look like some sort of timer? A clock? But it doesn't look like the digital clock...im confused

i think its a thermostat that makes your engine start when the temp drops below a certain level, to stop your engine freezing.

its for the proper cold countries, hence written in the article " not imported for the french market"

2 is an additional heating system.
3 is fuel warming system
4 (sound weird to me ... :? ) is a digital clock. But with a closer look it seems to have controls for a warming system.

Despription of 5 says it's purpose is to prevent water, snow and dust from coming into the engine bay + prevents vapor on the windscreen in exteme winter conditions.
Description of 6 says it's for quicker engine warming + snow and salt protection in winter.

You should ask to some nordic member of the forum if they have any of theses options installed.

number 4 is possibly the timer/control for the optional extra which was a petrol-driven engine heater, designed for the cold cold countries to enable people to have their engine/oil warmed before they got in the car (so for instance if you knew you were going out in 2 hours, you can program it to warm the engine and oil 30 mins before you left)

I have one. :D
Bought it socondhand, but brand new in box, installed it myself and it works perfectly. Not that I need it, since the car nowadays is only driven in the summer...but I have it. :)
