Side exit exhaust
I've decided that im going for the previously unattepmted (?) side exit exhaust. Going into the exhaust centre tommorrow to discuss materials, cost, and how its gonna work, but the principle is as follows:
1. Remove rear & mid section from CAT back
2. Replace mid section with stainless replacment (unsure of gauge as of yet)
3. Where the exhaust normally turns out towards the passenger side (before eventually snaking over the axel's, suspension etc) it will just come straight out about 4 inches in front of the rear wheel.
4. Understanding that she's gonna need quietening im gonna put a silencer (probably quite a slim one) just before the area it exits under the bodywork.
The idea eventaully being to fabricate some skirts, (similar to that seen on the Hauser and Haas bodykits, cut a tight hole for the exhaust so it will sit flush in and hide the silencer from view...
Thats the idea at least! Gonna bounce ideas with the exhaust specialist and see what he says really.

I can't answer this poll, on some cars it looks cool, on others it's like they're trying too hard.

Cheers guys! I was expecting a lot of negative views (ok some of you were undecided) but its generally quite good. As I can't afford the proper silencer (powerflow unfortunately is all i can get hold of), im gonna start with a dirt cheap silencer, then when i come back from uni for XMAS, i'll splash out on a proper one!
They reckoned around £350 but thats with a powerflow silencer and expensive tip too. So without them im hoping around £200/250...
Yeh i concluded that it'd be good for power, saves all the complex twisting and bending over the axel and the like!
Im also having it de-catted so that will help!

The time is Nigh! (Ok, Tuesday). Booked the car in for Tuesday. Having a tubular powerflow silencer fitted between Mid-system silencer and cat, and a stainless pipe coming out 6 inches in front of the rear wheels just as i planned! £200 estimate, which is ace!
Will post pics/review as soon as it's done!!!!

Yeh i know, but mine's just a tubular silencer, not a complicated back-box, so shouldn't have any probs. It's litterally a tube with baffling in it. Nice and simple (and only £35)!
