plexi glass long range

The Volvo 480 looks good as is, but if you have the desire to give it a more personal look you can find out what others did to their 480 and be inspired.

plexi glass long range

Post by bbf » Wed Nov 10, 2004 9:08 pm

heh, due to a lack of time for a visit to italy for 'new' long range lights, i decided to make my own glass. so i took the 8mm thick plexi, cut out the shape and grind it fit. here's the result:

(sorry, bad cam -> bad photos)

i'll make more photos when installed. i hope the the mot guys won't bug me...

Looks like a good job!

Shouldn't think they would bug you about it, they are only auxilary lamps, after all.

Would be even better if you could make plexiglass covers for the fixed focus foglights! :D

Installed! see photobucket...

they are slightly deeper than original glass, needs some more grinding, they have some glueing glitches, but at least the car doesn't look gap-toothed. hm, i might try fog lamps too some day!

bye!

Now you don't have to sit in front of your broken glass anymore when you take a picture of your car

yep, they're still fit, although they tend to unglue (the glue didn't seize to plexi, it is more like vacuumated to it). no trail of incoming stones. the MOT guys didn't say a word, they were more interested in my "catalitic pipe", why isn't there any converter...
dittering? unknown meaning of a word to me, sory. Maybe dithering? they don't dither, the popups used to, but i've changed the gass springs and all ok. (i didn't know there's a spring in them, i thought it was just a damper  )
