Wheels for the 480

The Volvo 480 looks good as is, but if you have the desire to give it a more personal look you can find out what others did to their 480 and be inspired.

Wheels for the 480

Post by levin » Sun Oct 24, 2004 11:44 am

Hi,

First of all, what kind of wheels can the 480 receive (in terms of size/offset/spoke/etc) like 4*100, 4*114,3... ?

I was searching through OZ's website and found 2 wheels that really catched my attention.

OZ Superturismo GT

Image

5 SPOKE (but I think they do 4 spoke too)

OZ HYDRA

Image

Well, both wheels had to be painted gunmetal, because I just love to see a black car on dark wheels.

I got this picture from the members gallery, hope the owner doesn't mind has I did a 2minute photoshop to it.

STOCK:

With OZ HYDRA + lowered

I also tried to photoshop it with the OZ Superturismo GT but the result wasn't very good. Maybe someone with real skills at photoshop can :)

Opinions?

Need to be bigger man

Post by sr480t » Sun Oct 24, 2004 1:55 pm

I reakon bigger wheels would look bigger, but maybe becoz ur not shit hot on photoshop it don't that good (i am not taking the piss, becoz i am not that great on it either) but i have got 205/45/16 and they look the beez knees and lots of other even in the street say they are the finishing touch to all my mods that i have done, but u may need to roll the arches on the rear, only my left wheel rub on a real bad bump when i got people in the back, so i avoid being 'taxi man'.

Hmmm that yellow one has got 5 bolt Wolfraces on!! Erm??? 5?

The same type that the Reliant Scimitar had....they say our car was based on the Scimitar.....maybe an early prototype hybrid!!!

I want to get some white MO's on my black turbo. I know most people probably won't like the idea but i'm into watching my WRC. Red mudflaps are on the way!!!

I'm like a welsh boy racer!! They all make their cars look like rally cars rather than as Paul Calf says......'look like they fookin painted their car in superglue and ram-raided halfords!!'

I think (don't know...) that the yellow car was used to a sport called folk-race here in Sweden. It could be from my town...
Converted to RWD with Volvo 240 axles and B230 engine if I remember correctly.

Can't say for sure that this is true but I think so...

hence the 5 bolt wheels, they do indeed look like the wheels from a scimitar. always wanted one of those...

i reckon white wheels and black cars look cool, are the MO's the 5 spoke ones or the spokey ones? both are cool rims!

Hi Murf,

It's the fives but I wouldn't mind some of the old compomotive, almost disc, type ones with the funky writing that looks like the Goodies logo!!

I think I read Retro Car magazine too much!!!
