Well when mine was running better, I had the speedo reading 140 (twas down hill, but fun) it's hardly eventful for the 480. Doesn't feel unsafe or like it shouldn't be going that fast. Unlike pushing my old 1.1 fiesta to 120 down the same stretch.... That's scary!

That reminds me of my first car, a Fiesta 1.0l. I had it doing 100 but it felt like 200 and was about to self destruct!

B18EP engine, but catted!?
Erm, you don't have a MAF mate. The N/A engines run using MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) thats what the vacuum thingy on the bulkhead is for.

The little blue thing in your air inlet, which i'm guessing you mis-took for a MAF? is the air temp sensor. I really don't think that would make that much difference. In fact i accidentally left one off for a while and never noticed any change!

I could take my 88-480T with a 175hp chip right up to the rev.limit @6200rpm on the fifthgear.
Theoretical topspeed ~240Km/h.

Well, correct me if I'm wrong, but from what i've seen in the SPEEDOMETER, 220km/h = 5400rpm

Therefore, at 6200rpm you should be going at 252km/h ((6200*220)/5400) (I'm only talking about the SPEEDOMETER, not the real speed).

Anyway, if the turbo at 5400 goes at 185, what kind of 480 is this one?

I've been in one reading that high, was still pulling on too!! He jad to back off, the traffic in front comes up rather quickly going at that speed!

It wasn't like my old ES where pulled up to 100, then slowed down the accelleration gradually up to the max of 122, this one just kept on accellerating at pretty much the same rate, till ran out of safe road at 135mph.

Rpruen has had his off the scale.

About 154 MPH at 6250 rpm for a turbo.

132 MPH (140 indicated) at 5400 rpm

It all depends on how close to spec / worn your tyres are though :)
