Turbo engine limits

So, I'm toying with building a bit of a monster Turbo lump. Well, as much as possible without breaking the bank anyway.
I was wandering if anyone knows the sort of power that the internals can take. Rods, crank, head/studs etc?
Current plan is to port/pollish the head, T25g turbo, bigger injectors - thinking from a B230t, decent exhaust, then go from there.
Any thoughts appreciated
Cheers,
Steve

well Robou's ECUs get them up to 170 /180 on standard internals, Rpruen did lots of work to get to near 300 IIRC...so I think the answer must be somewhere in between the two!!
Not much help I know
Give me a shout if & when u want this T25G

The Swap Shop Assistant

Dear Swap-Shop Assistant,
I would indeed be interested in your T25g.
Would you be willing to do a deal, with the obligatary packet of Monster Munch and half eaten Crunchie?
Many thanks,

A savoury man then, Jim??
Any preference on flavour?
Worth bearing in mind though, that roast beef will require the injectors cleaning!

2 Ronals, 1 a little scuffed.
No tyres.

There is no answer in between. Richard Pruen invested a lot and blew up everything in the end. Everybody did. Buy or build yourself a car that answers your demands.
Injection is a timed pulse. Bigger injectors let pass more fuel. Your lambda sonde does it's utmost best to correct this until about 3200 rpm. Then the engine runs with too rich a mixture. Fun!
The original turbo speeds up very fast. It is made for (only?) 1 bar maximum. If you mount a "bigger" turbo a lag will occur and the higher boost will not be answered for by the ECU, because the MAP only translates to 1 bar. So the mapping goes haywire. Fun!
The solution is a two years study in electronics and Megasquirt and doing away with the ECUs and MAF, because no one will assist you in rebuilding/adjusting the original ones. Even the super-richmod (or what it is called) died premature.
The oracle has spoken once again. At your service. I admire your fantasy.

Ha ha ha!
Thanks Robou, the Oracle!
So, have you any advice?
I think I would really be happy with 200-220bhp. That would make a really lively little car.
Tell me straight, am I dreaming to even get anywhere near that without epic problems??
Many thanks,
Steve
