I am planning to mount a PC processor fan into the air intake on my -92 480 turbo and se what it does
If I put it between the air filter housing and the air mass meter, the increased air flow would be measured by the AMM and the petrol injection should be adjusted accordingly. Would it work? Anyone done something like this before?

Why not? (almost offended )
People put in adjustable fuel pressure regulators to increase fuel injection.
A processor cooler fan would do the same, increase air flow.
Theoretically it is exactly the same function.
Now it only remains to be tested.

I think a simple fan will make no difference because it's capacity is way to low. It might even obstruct the air intake.

The fan would always be rotating, sucking air trough the air filter. I can't se how that would obstruct anything. One issue would be to regulate the speed according to the engine revs. Anyways, I will test it and let you know

The design of these fans is such that are likely to impede airflow to a greater extent than you realise the dead area in the centre is large in comparison to the "vented" area and is flat , square onto the direction of airflow. The resulting turbulence would undo any gain in airflow. In short if it was that easy all the turbo boys would have done it by now! The shape of the fans are rectangular it is a total non-starter.

Well, you might be right Jim. I can see your point. But it's good to ventilate (no pun intended) one's ideas in here. Thank's guys, hope you don't think I've lost it (crazy Swede )
