how long does it take?

Post by king_j » Sun Apr 11, 2004 9:30 pm

with your boost turned up how long does it take for ya to get to 140mph

and in what stages (can you break it down)

i get fast to 80 then slows a bit to 100 (4th gear) and slowly to 140 not rapidly!!!

does the little t2 run out of puff higher up the revs and speeds?

edit by coyote : moved to tuning and tweaking :)

Phew, even got me scared saying a Laguna weighed over 2000 kg!! That would make it even heavier than a (beautiful ;) ) 780!! (1460 kg)

Or a V90!! (1592 kg)

it wasnt at all a bad idea, so you say the engine is pish its only fast because its ina light tin foil car?

rubbish i have alot of faith in the car, and a little research found out that the t2's run out of puff at and psi above 4k, where as annice new t25/t28 or even a nice t3 would pull alot harder and also have a lower charge temp so will make it safer for the engine.

Jamo had a bigger turbo put on his - so physically it's possible. I also know he had bigger injectors fitted (from a Saab 9000?) I'm not sure what else he had to do though.

why wouldt it?

if anything it would be safer than the t2 is, as a smaller turbo to run high psi means it has to work hard to compress the air and also meaning very hot air, a larger turbo does not have to work as hard and this means the charge temp goes down and power goes up (very rough but trough explination)

meaning internals run cooler.

But it also needs more exhaust flow to turn it at the required speed. It's all related.
