2.0i - Can it be 'tuned'?

Evening all,

Perhaps a long shot, but other than adding a K&N panel/induction filter, can the 2.0i engine from a Celeb be 'tuned' at all?? I've heard that Volvo deliberately reduced the output from the 480 engines when released, but was this only the Turbo model?

Not a feasible option any improvement is minimal but the cost high , do a google search on this as it has been answered in detail before.

Renault 5 GTE?

Doesn't surprise me, but never have seen examples of them. Formula Renault did 135hp with 1.7 and 175hp with the 2.0l block

yes, the 1700 class was heavyly restricted, and 2000 a little less
