Removing Catalytic Converter

Post by tfmorton » Tue Sep 16, 2003 8:27 am

I'm thinking of constructing a cat replacement pipe to improve performance. Anyone done this and does it improve performance?

take your cat off and the lamda if it has one in the cat, get a dustbin bag and gloves on and a face mask and get a hammer and a long bar and hack away carefully not getting catalyst on your skin or up ya nose, if the car is a 1991 it dont need a cat for mot hope this helps, <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin">

No not directly, it just allows your turbo to remove gas quicker from the engine due to less restriction in the exhaust system which in turn can lead to better performance.
