DevilsOwn Water/Methanol

Post by volvo-tom » Sat Jan 15, 2011 10:35 pm

Today me and my mate daz installed a devilsown kit on my turbo,
( http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DEVILS-WATER-INJE ... 127wt_1139 ) considering were both just 16yrs old it was surprisingly easy to fit, it took me and my mate about 6hours to fit and test it. The i cant really tell any difference atm but then again all ive had to test it on is a long'ish' drive way lol

(to save the hassle of having to tap into an ignition source i simply placed a toggle switch in the engine bay)

the only problem i had with the kit was locating a vacuum/pressure line, the only way i cud do this was to just randomly pull off pipes in the inlet and see which ones caused the pressure switch to activate when on boost, i used an LED light strip on the bonnet to show me when it was active-

i later found one on the throttle body housing that did just the job

if anyone has any questions feel free to ask!

thanks for looking,

at what pressure you sat it to activate?

I don't think that you will see any difference while the car is fairly stockish, but certanly will help if further modifications are planned... ;)

Hmm, don't want to bother you but your engine is breathing hot air instead of cold air... not really a upgrade, that airfilter..

ive got it set to 6psi at the moment, its got a boost controller so the main reason was too reduce the chance of dettonation, it'll also hopefully cool down the intake temps.
I did think about the air filter, but altho u cant see it in the photos it does hav a cold air feed goin to it, and plus i figured surely the intercooler would cool down the air going into the engine anyway :-)

no problem, its located at the front of the inlet manifold, just before the throttle body (after the air filter), i hope this pic helps -

Hi,

I have the same kit on my supercharged mx5. The intake temps have gone right down. In fact the inlet pipe is ice cold. I am using a mix of water and isopropyl (99.7 alcohol)
is your pump higher then the water bottle? I pretty certain the pump should be below.

I run my 5lt tank from the boot.
