[480 Turbo] A Leon_pp's car for his wife

Hi,

As some of you know, i am working on a 142 R (B23+T with 531 head, a cam, and 0.63 Turbo with M47) for my self, the swap is not totally finished, i have to install my ms and finish air piping.

But this topik will be dedicated for a car i have bought for my wife.
Yes i have the chance that my wife like car, especially volvo, and said me that she would like to try some track (not the nordshleife, she is afraid by it) but want to try. She don't want use my 142, have some bad experience with it

So i look for some volvo that could be fun, i find a 480, the first was running with 1.7L 109hp engine. I check the car, change shocks, changed head gasket and ported head and header.
And go to the nordshleife next weekend.

Unfornatly i crached it at WiperMann du to mistake of friend (co pilot)


So looking for a 480 body, and found a '91 Turbo, i will made some pictures today.
The car have no engine/trans.
Need some body work, but looks good. Have ABS, and stock turbo (vented) brakes.

The project :

For the body :
- Heigo Roll cage
- Make something with suspension, bilstein made only B4 shocks for this car, so have to find a good solution.
- Brakes ?????

Engine :
- Prefered solution, if not to headache : Go with B5204T (Italian T5) with M56.
Apparently i am to shoort with engine bay width, a few cm (something like 7/8cm)
Don't want to use the B5234T because i allready have a B5204T engine, and for some traction purpose.

- If the engine could not find his place in the engine bay, looking for some Renault 2.0L 16v engine (F8Q i think) from a Laguna.

Hi,

Due to last year crash at Nurburgring, i am going to build a new engine for a new Turbo Body for my Wife.

I have baught the car last year without engine/trans (go to a Renault R5 GT, like many here in france)
The project is a good rebuild/balanced/porte engine.

I have bought a used B18FT engine (160 000km) but when i disassemble it i found that the head is dead, crackeb between spark plug and intake valve :

I have a 1.7i head in stock, so take it and begin to port:

The head is 90% finished, but don't have pictures.

The piston/rod have been balanced :



I have get some M60 from a 1995, 2.0L 460, but it have a mechanical speedo, is someone have done a Electronic conversion?
I also take the exhaust manifold to get the flange and do my own turbo header for a T3 garett.
The throttle body in a B18FT engine is 44mm and the header have a 55mm hole, so i found that 2.0L engine have a 55 throttle body, i have swithed it.

I have order a new cluch, a sachs renforced for a Renault 2.0L 16v williams engine (170HP stock), i think it will be ok for the expected HP.

The management is going to be a MS2nS with the orginale harness and LH box (with ms in it)
Have to find a Intercooler solution cause i don't have the stock one, don't know if going to look for a stock or after market one. Stock S60/V70 intercooler don't fit between front light

Start to reassamble the engine.

New bearings, cranck sit in place, get the pistons inside, and make the baffed oil pan.

How expensive was that crash at ring..have heard that they give out some large estimates for track damage repairs
