Does anyone have the details of the EPROM chips used in the Fenix 3B ECU? (code/type/compatible chips) mine has a sticker that's been laquered over covering the chips number.
If anyone knows if these allow you to read the chip while it's still in the ECU (eg is there an rx/tx pin on the connector side) or do they need to be desoldered and read?
I assume the chip would have to be replaced or at least removed from the ECU to modify any mapping on it?
If anyone has any details or the maps from it I'd be grateful to get a copy (Mine is from a 1992 1.7 ES)
Thanks,
Leon

Part answered my question as managed to get the laquered label off Chip is a 27C 256
I'll continue to look into what can be done and hopefully some testing in the not too distant future, but in the meantime if anyone has more info on the ECU I'd be grateful. Also if anyone has a spare ECU S101 706 102 D I may be interested in a spare to play with so I can keep the original one to use in case anything goes wrong and test against.
Regards,
Leon

Search on here, I've posted the ignition/fuel maps before which I extracted from the EPROMs.

It sounds like RPRUEN stopped providing the famous 'richmod' ECU ...
Does anybody ever tried to use an EPROM emulator in order to tweak their ECU ? Like this stuff.
Basically you load an ECU map and change it's content live with the engine running through a USB port on the box itself.
Why not try to gather all the various modded ROMS (richmod, RICA, Mr Sweden, ... ) and make them available through the forum ?
If giving access to ROM content sounds too sensitive for the forum admins, why not provide a tutorial on how to perform some changes in you ECU map when modding your car (when fitting a 3 bar map sensor, 2L engine with turbo head, ... ).

I've wondered the same thing for a while. I run a similar module in my Porsche, it's pretty incredible what good tuning can allow for on a turbo car. A Porsche 951 can safely put down 300rwhp with a boost controller, wastegate and MAF conversion (including the fuel control module). I'm not sure what a bone stock 951 puts to the wheels but I know its less than 200...so that module essentially unlocks the engine for a 50% gain, at least.LANTIN wrote:Does anybody ever tried to use an EPROM emulator in order to tweak their ECU ?
