Richmod - which ecu is needed?

Post by a_hornett » Tue Dec 02, 2008 1:53 pm

Apologies for the obvious questions, but I've searched and not found the answer I'm looking for :(

Can anyone confirm which ecu's are needed to do the richmod? I've got the CEM, which i understand is NOT needed.

I've got the Bosch Jetronic fuel ECU out, I'm guessing that's needed too

I'm led to believe there's an ignition ECU which should also have a coloured label on it? Is this correct? Where in the car can it be found? It's a 94 L 480 turbo.

Thanks in advance for the help :)

Hello,

The ignition ECU is the one you want.

If you are in the car then it's LEFT of your left foot (if in a UK car) pull back the carpet and your find it.

See http://volvo480.dragons.org.uk/forum/vi ... c&start=40 about having your ECU taken by a kind forum member.

the only problem is that your ecu has to be sen away leaving you 480 less for a time. Best solution is to buy a spare ecu and put it place of your existing one while its away getting modded.

its not a major problem, the 480's a dedicated track car not my daily, so while the ecu is away, the hole saw gets to play :D
