volvo 480 ex straight 1.7 to a turbo 1.7

right guys and girls i have a volvo 480 1.7 on a k plate 103thou and ive had her a year however here lies the problem
wether it be me getting used to the car or the car getting slower im not sure and id like a bit more power i carnt afford a turbo 1.7 but would like to know as ive spent alot of money on myn how difficult it would be to turbo her please can you volvo 480 gods point me in the right direction with rough prices i dont mind gettin my hands dirrty to cut costs
