heads
does anyone know if the head off a 2.0 will fit on a 1.7 and do you think it would help power wise
The combustion chambers are of a completely different design. The 1.7 has the Heron type of combustion chamber. That means the combustion takes place in the piston head itself, so the head itself is completely flat. The 2.0 has the Partagee type of combustion chamber, combustion takes place partly in the piston head and partly in the head itself. So they aren't interchangable as the 2.0 has a (small) combustion chamber in the head and the 1.7 doesn't have at all.

Also the B20F and B18U are 'big bore' blocks. They have cylinder bore of 82,7mm where other B18 block are 81mm.
I als read somewhere that the oil lines dont line up between the small bore block and the big bore blocks.
For a 1.7 N/A I would buy B18E pistons and flow the orginal head. Then you will notice a difference.
