As i sad you can keep one relay to switch 12v to the fuel pump and injectors but of course you can use 2 relays one for each other the idea is to switch both on with the FUEL PUMP WIRE form the MS ECU witch is a ground ( 0v ) switched by the ecu.
The stock injectors are good for about 1 bar of boost,so if you want more they need to be changed.Don't know nothing about the Volvo fuel pump as i have another setup

P.S. MS1 is the first generation Megasquirt ecu.

Has not understood once again in what the idea consists? In that the pump wire has been connected at once on the management block?

so hallo to MS thread....
I and my electrical guru have read about 5times this thread and to finalize 480 comunity achievments I'll ask few questions that grinds my mind..

How many actual MS powered 480 there are running and who has turbo?
-Gixfighter?
-BNZ?
-480_rocket?
-Etore?

we are curently converting my early turbo with MS V3 extr.:
- we plan to compleatly get rid of the factory ECUs ignition EZK and fueling, have you done the same?

- as I understood that from factory all 4 fuel injectors are working from one channel instead of comonly used 2channels, have you kept that setup or redone?
- tacho is working from injector signal right?
- checking, setting the timing using strobescope? I spent quite a time searching for info and only I found was that 480 doesn't have timing marks, the only solution from early 2004 was: trying to use cam puley, as reference piont using TDC mark, then measuring circumference of pulley then dividing by 360 and thus finding out 1 degree values and marking on pulley.

Timing marks are on the flywheel next to the flywheel sensor, B18FT= 8 (+- 3) degrees with hot (86c) engine~can't adjust the timing though!

Hi All,

this has been a fare while with no posts, how did everyone get on, I'm about to buy a MS2 V3 and wanted to check progress and get some tips, maps and wiring diagrams if possible???

Thanks

Well mine is in progress....

the car run for about an hour under MS control...it has some base map in it and it was in 2010.

At that point car used MS as piggy back ecu without compleatly eliminating EZK and fuel ecus..cause when we tried that dashboards infocentre shuted off and few more gremlins apeared....480 is inteligent car and computers comunicate with each other...

since then I've been gathering things and waiting to actually get motivation, free time and money.... as it's the start of new year so mine will run this year....

I know this thread is pretty old but instead of creating a new thread thought i would carry on this one. I have seen the igniton map images peeps have posted on here I am wondering if anyone can do a screen dump of a fuel map for b18ft engine say running between 17-24psi just so I can get an idea of what it should kind o look like.

p.s. I am using Adaptronic e420c standalone

hello

I have a Microsquirt unit and i want to install on my B18ft

I have 58 teeth and two opposing 180 spaces, each space fits in two teeth on the standard fly will

Can this trigger work in MegaSquirt/Microsquirt bases?

Thanks
Luis Pinto

Hi,
I have b18ft and i'm trying to start the engine on ms1. I have 2 problem with configuration or maybe with conection to ms. I don't know how: connect TPS (doesn't work with 1 scheme) and configure ignition on tuner studio ms. My english is too bad to explain everythink what it's done but maybe somebody tell me step by step how i can do this.

Has anyone solved the issues with infocenter and megasquirt? Is it possible to keep it alive? Maybe just the temperature readings? Has anyone studied what kind of signal the standard ECU sends to the infocenter unit?

edit:
Been looking into this and seems like easiest way to make it happen, is to leave the standard ecu as it is, and install the MS or other programmable ECU as a parallel device. You would just steal all the input data, and let the new ecu handle the ignition, injectors and boost control.
