I never tried changing the falling edge/ rising edge input capture, but I can try but don't know the difference anymore, I need to read that part of the manual again also.

I don't know if the autotune option has dissapeared in the extracode, what does the autotune option do?

Something else, the thermistor resistor values you stated in your first post, are you sure these are correct? I tried it with my setup and gives a read out of 15 degrees lower then my settings.
My settings are:
-14 = 12500 Ohm
21 = 2570 ohm
88 = 318 ohm
I'm sure there will be some small differences in sensors, but won't be very big.

The values for the temp sensors were taken from a mixture of Haynes/Vardis and give exactly the same reading as the infocentre. I tried using the Bosch defaults at first and it gave me wrong readings. Perhaps MS2 is different in some way, or you built using different bias resistors? They are R4 and R7 and I used 2.49 K ohm which is what you need for GM sensors.

Here on step 54:

MSII can calibrate the sensors based on three resistance values at different temperatures, so you don't need to change the bias resistors. I didn't change this resistor, I used Megatune to calibrate them, based on resistor values I meassured myself. When I use the values from the first post, I get 15 degrees lower reading at 95 degrees celcius so I doubt these are right.

No knock control so far installed on my engine, want to install it sometime but no time to sort out things for that. As I understand MSII has a not very reliable knock control software, unless you have a bench with a few spare engines to figure out the right settings. I believe MSIII wil get a much better knock control

gixfighter, it seems my value for 95 celcius could be wrong. See here:http://www.vems.hu/wiki/index.php?page= ... ensorTable

I will try and remeber where I found the values listed and double check everything.

Hi Guys,

Used the temperature resistor values from the table from Bosch from the link somewhere above, looks perfect so everybody should use the values listed there.

Engine set-up:
- stock engine pistons, crank, crankshaft, head, valves, camshaft etc
- stock turbo
- stock injectors
- stock fuel pressure regulator
- modified intercooler ebay type
- stock volvo 480turbo downpipe
- 2,5inch exhaust from downpipe to 2,5inch absorbtion type muffler, with no cat or any other obstructions.
- Innovate Motorsports LC-1 wideband lambda controller
- Green cold air intake filter
- Walbro 255l/min fuel pomp in tank mounted
- Forge blow-0ff valve

Plan:
- upgrade turbo to GT2259/GT2252 and upgrade injectors
- Install Eaton M45 compressor
- water injection or extra water-to-air intercooler
- B18E camshaft, but anybody experience with this in his B18ft engine?

But first to do urgently:
- upgrade cooling system with external oil cooler to relief water cooling system and so get engine temp down
- Install low temperature thermostat
- if necessary upgrade standard radiator

I have some cooling problems because my Renault 19 radiator is approx 2/3 of the size of the volvo one, and half of it is looking at a 2inch thick intercooler.

If you guys want you can download my msq file for the MSIIExtra code here:

http://members.home.nl/klusbedrijfwildejong/

Don't just drive it without tuning the VE-table and logging lambda, as your engine is different from mine and you can serious damage your engine when running lean!!!

I can't get the boost controller working, don't know why....

I have a B18E camshaft that I'm going to try in the near future, waiting on the LC-1 to be repaired. :(

Sorry Guys, I made a mistake, I had uploaded my first MSQ file, instead of the latest one, so the first one had some mistakes in it, stupid stupid.
Try the latest one here:

http://members.home.nl/klusbedrijfwildejong/

This one is running very good on my engine, but still need some fine tuning on dwell, idle pwm and VE table.

Sorry for the inconvenience guys!!

@480_rocket: keep me informed about results on the B18E camshaft please!

Will do, although it won't be very scientific, as I don't want to spend lots on dyno runs.

I just looked at the standard ignition amplifier used on the B18FT, and it seems the amplifier does dwell control which I didn't realise. It's a Bosch BM206 I think.

I forgot about this, I will probably do it. It should be fine for doing comparisions on different modifications. At the moment I'm only running 4psi of boost, but I should see some difference after I change the cam shaft (either good or bad!).

No need for MAF! Megasquirt in most setups uses MAP sensor and IAT (Air intake temp) to work out airflow. I've already ditched the standard crankcase breather system, and if you remove the dump valve return pipe you can literally pipe an air filter straight on the turbo.

I was thinking of placing the air filter right up into the compartment where the bonnet vents are as I hate the amount of pipes that get in the way unde rthe bonnet.
